Question:

How do I deal with a phone that cuts out?

I bought a BT Studio 1500 cordless phone back in early 2005 in that time the display hardly shows and the length it needs to recharge for seems to increase as when I'm on it it beeps every few seconds or so then cuts out completely.

I haven't used it that often and the last time I did during a conversation with a family member it cut out and I was blamed for hanging up on purpose - luckily over time I my apologies were accepted.

Unfortunately tonight I was on the phone to a good friend and the phone cut out once more I was devastated because of how it may have seen I have apologised quite a few times saying how I am in no ways a rude man and would never hang up on someone.

How on earth do I deal with this in future and if any other owners in the UK have a BT Studio 1500 can you tell me if this is normal or is this a cue for me to buy a new phone.

  1. I'm not in the UK, but I had a similar problem with my cordless phone years ago. Instead of buying a new phone, I bought a new battery, and was back in business. I don't know what stores are close to you, but I found an entire aisle of phone batteries at WalMart, with reference guides to help you find the right one.

You may want to try that before you get a new phone....

    Hope this helps! :)

  2. Buy a new phone... It just happens sometimes, and its very annoying - you will go through more hassle trying to get it fixed.... Your only problem is if its not the phone, its the phone line....

  3. did

  4. That's why I stuck with a corded hand set w/speaker phone.

Time to pony up the cash, MuDLer, and get a corded speaker phone with cordless option.

    Here are some examples:

  5. Make sure none of the connecting parts are rusted, like where the phone jacks into the wall.  If you have a warranty, call the company.  If neither pans out find the best deal you can online.

  6. Better break down and get another one dear. It sounds as if you've gotten a lemon on your hands. :D

  7. I think you need a new phone.

  8. uh oh...it's tapped!  Honestly, my phone started this crazy behavior at the 2 year mark as well.  Batteries get old and need to be replaced in these things.  Even though they are supposed to be re-chargeable, they wear out eventually.  Just spring for a new one luv.
