How do I deal with a situation with new friends?

Okay, a year ago I moved away from some of the best friends I had ever had. I was so happy. We had a lot of fun, but also a lot of drama. Well when I got here, I didn't find that with these people. I just don't like them as much as I did the people in the last place I lived. I just don't fit in with the people and A LOT of them really annoy me. I mean, they have drama over really DUMB stuff (like someone I barely talked to getting upset about me not inviting them to a sleepover I had) and I'm tired of them already. I really wish I could go back to the last place I lived, but I know that'll never happen. What do I do?

  1. Smile and deal with it

  2. The best thing for you to do is to set boundaries. Know who you like and you who you dislike. Know who you trust and don't trust.

And if people get upset because you didn't invite them some place, simply tell them "I'm sorry, but I didn't think you were interested because we don't really talk that much". Say that in a polite and sincere way so people don't think that you are being rude and nasty. Doing this is a sure way to recieve positive feedback.

As for the annoying drama, disassociate yourself with the drama. Don't be apart of it because that is drama x's a million and the only thing you really should be focusing on right now is your school work and just enjoying life one day at a time.

When your friends want to include you in about drama that is happening with someone else, just nodd your head and say "wow". This is safe because you are not adding to the drama and you are not appearing distant and anti-social. Find a middle ground that is comfortable with you.

Always remember that negative energy feeds negative energy.

Always try to be positive and you'll be just fine.

I hope everything works out in your favor.

    God Bless
