I have a three and a half yr old daughter who has been potty trained for over a year and a half now and just in the last week she has been wetting her bed at night. I don't give her drinks right before bed anymore and she always goes to the bathroom before bed too. I do not know what else to do! I have three other children and none of them ever went through this once they were potty trained they were done no wetting the bed at night. I know every kid is different but it just seems really weird that she is doing this after she as been potty trained for so long. Kind of seems like its not a relapse that there is something I need to try to do with her but I am not sure what. If there is anything that you may have done and worked or any suggestions to things I can do that I haven't already please any advise is welcomed. Thank you and have a great day.

  1. Well here is what I have done with my son:

    1.  She is old enough to take her own sheets off her bed when she wets the bed. We did that so my son would know that since he urined his bed sheets then he needs to clean the mess up.

    2. We tried the overnights by pull ups and that to me seems like I am saying hey go ahead and pee in the bed.

    3.  Then when he did not wet the bed we would reward him with either  a 99 c toy or icecream or something he would like to have that did not cost an arm and a leg LOL.

  2. I just had a similar problem with my daughter (just turned 4), but instead of problems with bedtime, we've had problems staying dry during naps.  Same thing, she's been great for quite awhile, cut back on drinks  in the AM and she uses the potty before naps too.  All of a sudden she had accidents during her nap at the sitter's for 3 straight days in a row, which is very unlike her.  Nothing has changed with us at home, so I was at a loss.  The only thing I could think of was it may possibly be an attention thing, the sitter has kids of her own and they are home from school now since it's summer.  (I say attention, because the sitter said on 1 or 2 of those days, my daughter was only sleeping for a very short time, or didn't even go to sleep at all one day)  My mom tried a 'reward', getting to go shopping with her and she would buy my daughter something at the store that she could pick out, if my daughter stayed dry all week at the sitter's.  After a few days of no accidents, she had 1 or 2 again.  I figured maybe that wasn't really a 'reward' enough, since shopping with Grandma and her buying my daughter things isn't really that rare of an occurence  (we know how Grandma's are!  LOL)  Last week I told her if she had no accidents, we would go out for ice cream!  That's something we've never done before so I knew she would be very excited about it.  Well, sure enough she had no accidents last week, and so far this week she has stayed dry again!  I hope it stays that way...  Don't know if this will help you at all, but thought I'd at least share my situation!

  3. 1.Make sure you don't give her liquids 1 hour before bed-time

2.You should get some GoodNights so it wont mess up her sheets.

    3. Make sure she is actually going to the bathroom before she sleeps.

    4. If they don't work, you should see a doctor.

  4. it will pass just buy some pullups in the meantime.

could she have a UTI? they can cause bedwetting
