Question:

How do I deal with this nosy neighbour?

My family has been living in this neighbourhood for over 12 years. I'm 17 in college now and I only visited home for the summer, but in that short space of time, I see that this old lady living next to us, still harrasses us anytime she gets the chance.

In the latest stint, my father was always complaining to me about the weeds in front our house. So in response I started pulling it up and dumping it into the vacant lot in our house. Now this lot has been vacant since we moved here, and is ALREADY full of weeds.

However the old lady comes outside and starts yelling at me really loudly (you know, in the way people yell to try and get everyone around to look at you).

This same lady "supposedly" knew the people who lived there, but never sought to clear the empty lot, she used it as HER personal dump site until we moved here.

This empty lot has been nothing but MY FAMILY'S problem, it brings mosquitos, beetles and lizards into our house.

Last year when I visited, my dad hired a guy to spray the weeds from the empty lot that was overhanging our fence.

The lady still came out on the road to argue with us.

Here's even more background. This same old lady has a habit of burning her rubbish in her backyard, which always ends up blowing straight into our house.

I don't know what to do,....I mean you know already "nice guys die young, but PRICKS LIVE FOREVER"

seriously, this lady is in her 70's and still harrassing us, and age doesn't seem to slow her down at all !

This is so frustrating, I mean, nobody is gonna believe the 17 yr old teenage boy is being harrassed by this lil old lady.

  1. I still have the nosy neighbor happening, Nothing walking naked out to the clothes line as saying cheerio "Hello" on your way.

Beat em @ there own game its more fun.

  2. The good news is that, under normal circumstances, you'll outlive her.  In the meantime, maybe you can find somewhere else to hang out during the summers while you're in college.  One thing is for sure: Nobody is going to change her, no matter what they do.  So, it's either put up with it, or get your family to move.  I wish you good luck with the problem and hope you find a solution.
