  1. Folks de facto means -whether by right or not

  2. To apply for a de facto visa (is for people who are in a common law relationship) for Australia, you and your girlfriend must provide evidence of your relationship detailing mutual commitment and evidence demonstrating the social aspects of the relationship, including pictures and the opinions of family and friends about the relationship.

This visa can be applied for from within, or outside of Australia. You can check it out here http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/partner/...

  3. not sure what "de facto" actually means but tell them shes a doctor or something, then they will accept her with open arms.

    Or propose to her

  4. If you go the Australian Immigration website there is alot of informatio on what they deem to be proof of a de facto relationship. however there are a couple of other visas that might help like a prospective spousal visa

  5. Hi, myself and my fiancee have just been through this for our visa. To be de facto you have to prove you hae been in a committed relationship and living together for at least 12 months. you hae to show prove of shared morgage or rent -your bank or landlord can write you a letter, prove that you share bills - originals of phone bill, gas bill etc in both your names for last 12 mnths, letters from family and friends stating how long they have known you, that you are a couple, what responsibilities you share and how they see your furture.   You need to have as much detail of your lives together for the past 12 months as you can get. Hope this helps - feel free to email me if you want any more info. Good luck x

  6. Immigration has policy that if applying for someone who is your defacto partner i.e you are not married but in an established relationship, you will have to prove it by supplying them with proof of living together and that you have a meaningful relationship. This may mean getting sworn statements from friends who know you both and also needs someone who is Aus citizen who knows you both (for at least 2 years I think) to make a statement that they believe your relationship is 'genuine and continuing' The more proof thebetter - joint bills, things saying you live together etc.
