On this gun there is not a cocking lever. So how do you uncock the gun after you have cocked it? Becuase you are not supposed to dry fire the gun, correct? So how do you decock the gun with out firing the gun?

  1. The 24/7 is a SA/DA striker fired pistol.

The only way to decock is to pull the trigger.

The selling idea on the 24/7 is it is a SA semi-auto, but you can pull double action in case of a failed fire, or hard primer.

The striker fired platform is tried and true, you need not worry about firing pin spring fatigue.

As for one of the previous answers, only an ignorant person would consider striker fired weapons as stupid.

  2. Drop the mag,

    Rack the slide

(i do this twice as a habit while visually inspecting the chamber),

Point it in a safe direction, and pull the trigger

Incompetence is the only thing that makes any firearm unsafe.

  3. This is a SA/DA weapon. Anyone who says otherwise does not know this gun. I own it. There is no reason not to just pull the trigger to decock  this weapon when it has been unloaded, there is no shell in the chamber, and it is aimed in a safe direction.

  4. You can't.

It is a double action only (DAO) firearm. Same as the Glocks and all those clones firearms makers are making beacuse of the popularity of Glocks. Glocks aren't anything special in my opinion. They are reliable and very, very, very simple to operate. Personally I hate those DAO triggers...

Ya, ya...I know they have three safeties built in, so you can carry it around with one in the chamber. Go right ahead, but I won't.

You can load it with a "snap cap" (dummy round) and dry fire the gun. But, you would have to leave the snap cap in the gun, cause if you manually pull the slide back to remove the snap cap...you just c o c k e d the gun again.

By the way...I think Taurus makes fine firearms. I'm just not a fan of these DAO guns.

  5. i agree with the first answerer.  dont buy guns that dont have a hammer.  the glock and its clones are a stupid design.

  6. The 24/7 is striker fired

Not really a DAO because racking the slide readies the striker for shooting

If it were true DAO you would be able to activate the striker without having to rack the slide to **** it

The only way to release the striker is to pull the trigger

There is nothing wrong with dry firing a modern centerfire firearm

And nothing wrong with carrying a gun with a positive safety with one in the chamber

If you can not or will not then this gun is not adequate for your CCW needs
