  1. you have to open ubuntu and find out the partition where you installed ubuntu +swap file change their format to FAT32 with the help of partition manager reboot again and you are done

otherwise open recovery console log in as root and then do the formatting of ubuntu drive.

Use live CD for doing this job, again use partition manager.

  2. It depends on the way it was installed. There are ways to install Ubuntu from within XP using Wubi. If that is the way you installed it then you can go to the add\remove programs and install it.

If you used the live cd to run the install, then you need to delete the partition that Ubuntu is using and then fix the MBR(master boot record). If you have a XP cd insert it and wait for the install to start. You should see the option to repair and will need to press "R". You will then need to using the following commands- fixboot and\or fixmbr. This will rewrite a new master boot record and remove grub that has taken over.

A easier way to do this is to just download Vista boot pro. Don't wory that it says vista. It will show legacy versions of Windows. Once you download it, install it and let this write the master boot record. Reboot after it is finished and then go into computer management and delete the partition that Ubuntu is using. Then reformat the unallocated space from within computer management to reclaim your hard drive space.

If you just delete the partiton then the grub loader is still there and you won't be able to boot into Windows. Here is a link, I have used it myself and it works great.

  3. Why the h**l do you want to do that????

    Anyway..

I think I can help you...

Format the hard disk from the administration tools of XP.. there you should be able to see the partitions..

Anyway. try to upgrade ubuntu to the latest kubuntu version... Than you will not unistall it!

  4. Ubuntu is a Linux Based OS. It cannot be installed "in Windows XP". You would either install it on a separate partition or on a Virtual Drive.

Therefore, it is rather difficult to assist you if I don't kow how Ubuntu is currently set up (if it actually is).

  5. Format the hard disk, and are installed windows xp, sorry me but i'm italian. Hi and good luck!!

  6. you had to have installed ubuntu on a diffirent partition in xp .So you need to boot from the xp disk and basically delete that partition.so follow the on screen prompts when booting from the xp media and when you come to the part where windows is searching for any previous windows installations it will see the other partition the ubuntu is installed on then you just highlight it and delete that partition but be careful to not delete the windows partition.Usually windows is the first partition and then secondly you will find the other partition.Good luck
