How do I delete a folder on my desktop that won't go away?

my friend created a folder on my desktop, he used number lock and named it a few numbers, and now i cant delete it.

I found that - normally by pressing something like holding down Alt Gr, and typing in 255 on the keypad.

Try renaming it and then deleting it.

I can't work out a workaround other than that though, unless you are prepared to start a new user account and copy over everything except for that folder.
