How do I delete something off the dock in mac OSX 10.4 without removing the entire program?

My sister has a mac, and she is asking me for help.

  1. Left click and hold on the icon she wishes to remove...a little window should pop up with the first choice being 'Remove from Dock'...Voila!!  Should be able to access the program through the Applications folder for later use!!


  2. just drag the icon off the dock... the actual file/application will still reside wherever it is located on the harddrive...
