  1. The best place, IMO, is Cynthia Tobias' book, _The Way They Learn_.

    http://www.amazon.com/They-Learn-Cynthia...

Your public library most likely has it.

There are some online sites also:

    ...Ann Zeise's list...

Then read Cathy Duffy's _100 Top Picks For Homeschool Curriculum: Choosing The Right Curriculum And Approach For Your Child's Learning Style_:

    http://www.amazon.com/100-Top-Picks-Home...

I would also recommend you read about multiple intelligences, because along with learning styles, this can help you pick methods and curriculum.

  2. IF YOU KNOW WHAT GRADE THEY WAS IN,GIVE THEM SOME WORK TO DO IN THAT GRADE,WHEN YOU GRADE IT,LIKE IF THEY MISS ALOT,THAT SHOULD GIVE YOU SOME IDEA WHERE TO START FROM.

  3. How have your kids always learned things? Are they hands on? Do they need to get up and walk around while studying anything? Do they sit while listening? What are their personalities? Do they enjoy reading (either you reading to them or reading themselves)? There are about 100 other questions you need to think about before you are sure about learning styles. It may come down to just trying different curricula. Try going to a fair and seeing what catches your kids eyes.

If you buy a curricula and you find it doesn't work for your kids be prepared to put it away and get a new one. Some like Sonlight offer a refund if you don't like it. ACE you can buy a months worth of work for about $50.00.

Find books by Ruth Beechick and John Holt. Their books are excellent for home schoolers.

  4. ask them what they like to learn with, pictures memorization ect.

ask yourself if they are hyper and then try some internet tests using that info

  5. There's a really useful book by Cathy Duffy.  It's called 100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum.  It address learning style as well as the various curricula that will align with your child's particular style.

  6. How old are they?

Try typing into google or any other search engine 'VAK'. This will come up with some quick 'tests' to determine the learning style.

    Hope that helps.

  7. I've linked you to a great website on all aspects of homeschooling.  The page you'll get is the learning styles section.  Be sure to check out the entire site, though.  It's great!

    Be well.

  8. I googled VAK like the first answerer suggested and found a very simple onlne test.  I thought it was great!  Thumbs up!
