How do I determine what AWG size my battery cables are?

Batteries for what?  Many times the AWG is printed on the cable insulation.  I have seen charts that you can hold a stripped end of the cable up to and compare it to the size of your AWG, or if you have a pair of strippers that fits the cable see which gauge on your strippers strips the cable.  You also might be able to look up the battery specifications and find out what the manufacturer's recommended AWG size for those batteries is.  It is hard to give you a better answer than that without knowing any details.
