How do I determine where the mold smell is coming from?

From the bay window in my kitchen, there is a mold smell when it rains. I had new siding put on a year ago, around the window, and the siding is not flush around the circular window above the bay. When it rains, it dribbles down the outside of the bay window on the glass. Mold from the bay window roof? From the circular window?

I would get an old carpenter that lives close by to take a look it sounds like the flashing is leaking or the siding and that means you are taking water some place.....my guess is it should show up as a stain on your wall , damp carpet, or discoloration someplace soon.......your walls maybe changing in texture or color.......take a closer peek. Insulation good be wet...and that will give off a mold smell if you have a paper faced insul.       All the best...nite ..Oh just fix the leak and you can quit worrying.......take a look and see if their any insects(ants silver fish) any creepy crawlers around.
