How do I digitaly conect my 5.1 Surround sound system to my TV?

You cannot get 5.1 Surround out of your TV. The only way it would be possible is if you had a High-Definition cable box or satelite receiver with digital audio out. Many HD programs are broadcast in Dolby Digital 5.1

However, it IS possible to connect your home theater system to broadcast the TV audio in stereo mode. All that would be needed is any connection from an "audio out" jack on the TV to an "audio in" input on your receiver. As far as digital, I think you're stuck... but I have been out of the tech game for a few years and there is no telling what is out on shelves now.

You cant connect a surround system digitally to a tv only analog. Your tv is only stereo and if your using a 5.1 system you wouldn't want to do that anyway.
