Question:

How do I disable Norton 360?

I FINALLY found the problem of my slow computer. I'm trying to play a game, and it's slower than I remember it being months ago. :X Anyway, Norton 360 has a slightly delayed startup, and in that delay, my game runs PERFECTLY. Right when it starts, though, my game gets slower like *Snaps fingers* that. Even while I'm playing it, it's fast, then Norton starts up and it becomes slow.

I need to temporarily disable Norton 360 so I can play my game with optimal speed. How do I do this? I cannot find any disable buttons like there are on other antivirus & internet security programs, and I really need to know how to turn it off without uninstalling it.

I don't mind having to reboot my computer to get Norton working again after I disable it, (EHM) but I would like it if Norton was off for the time being.

  1. Most programs have an icon in the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, including anti virus programs. Maybe your Norton icon is hidden. Go to the Taskbar and Start Menu (Advanced). You can set which buttons you want to hide and which to always show. If you can get Norton onto your taskbar this way, you can right click it and disable it temporarily.

  2. Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Delete/Remove that Program
