This is driving me crazy! I have looked everywhere and guess I'm just an idiot because I cannot figure out how to disable this or why it even started happening....certain words within a webpage will be underlined twice and clickable..when you click on them (I did to try to see if that's how to set options-it's not!) it takes you to a weird, random spam-like page every time....

What the!!?? Someone please help!! lol thanks!

  1. Well, Yahoo does have a feature in certain Yahoo news stories where a keyword, for instance Seattle, is underlined with a single, broken blue line.  When you put your cursor on Seattle, it becomes highlighted in blue and you have the option to then click to find out more about Seattle.

However, I haven't noticed (yet) any double underlined keywords in Yahoo that take you to a "weird site".  Some websites use double underlined keywords as a hyperlink to generate ad revenue; so, I guess it could be that.  But the fact that it takes you to a "spam-like page" is of concern.  Also, if you didn't have it a couple of weeks ago and now you have it, that's a concern.   It could be that you have an adware/spyware that covertly installed on your computer.  Do you have an anti-spyware program on your computer?  If so, update it and then run it.  Or, if you don't have anti-spyware, you can download a free one to run.  You could try Ad-Aware from Lavasoft:

And there are several other good, free ones, too.

Here is a link that briefly discusses the double underlined issue:
