Question:

How do I display a picture of a product without copyright laws?

I'm starting an online business, and I'm wondering how I am able to display a picture of a product I am selling without infringing copyright laws. As I know it, many successful online businesses are able to display images, but I'm not sure if they do this with, or without consent from the product owner/manufacturer. Is anybody here in the business or is able to help me clarify this gray spot?

Thanks for the help~

  1. I sell candles and the name is proprietary. I was told I can make a display and cover the name and I can sell it. The name just cant be in any of the wording. If the item you want to sell can be altered a bit, or the name can be covered or in my case if there is a label that can be removed you shouldn't have any problems. I'm not a lawyer so by no means is this a factual answer. Check with the company and see what the legallities are.

    Good Luck!
