Question:

How do I display an oversized poster?

Hi, I just bought an oversized French movie poster that's around 47" x 63". Because it's so large, I can't afford to have it framed ($2000!), but I'd still like to put it on a wall to display it.

Is there a way to display a poster this large without using tacks or adhesives (I don't want to damage the poster/lessen its value) that's still relatively cheap?

Thanks!

  1. Put it between 2 pieces of plexi glass. ?

  2. Get a piece of cardboard, cut it to the same size of your poster. Get plastic glue it in triangular shapes in the corners and slide the poster ends inside to triangles. Finally if you would like you can get some plastic wrap and cover it ( get the extra large length) it you choose. Have fun!

  3. Buy 'foam core board' and  extra thin plywood.  Very carefully lay the poster on the foam core board, set that on the plywood, and put 'packaging cellophane' (stretched so you can't see any wrinkles) over it and 'seal' at the back.  Use regular 'art hangers' that have two parts ... one for the wall and the other for the back of the picture.  With a picture that large, you may need to buy three of these hangers ... the total cost of this should be under $50 ...

  4. ceiling :) ..
