My battery died in the middle of a parking lot so I replaced it myself so there was no one to take the old one. How do I get rid of it in an environmentally friendly way?

  1. Batteries are recyclable!!!  Check to see where your local Household Hazardous Waste Facility is.  Auto part stores take batteries back too.

Household batteries (AAA, C, D, etc)count as Household Hazardous Waste as well

  2. I always took mine to an auto parts store they usually take them.If they don't do that any more try a recycling center or call your city dump site and ask them how to dispose of it properly.

  3. you should take it to your hazerdous waste center thing they should have a place were you can go in but that might just be my city(canada,on) or take it to canadian tire and exchange it

  4. Put it out on the sidewalk. Maybe some hobo will take it off your hands.

  5. Your local garbage hauler would know what to do in your area, or take it to the place where you bought the new one. Thanks for being considerate and taking care of it right  :)

  6. Most garages take them back for recycling.

  7. take it to an auto parts store --they may give you about 5 dollars for it too---or a recycling center

  8. most auto parts supply stores recycle old batteries.......tom

  9. find a pickup at the local walmart and just drop it in the bed when no one is looking.   should do the trick, but you should wear gloves if it is leaking, battery acid is very caustic so put it in a ford

  10. Take it to your nearing dealership or auto body shop. Really, thanks for asking! Most people just throw it away and don't even think of the consequences.

  11. Where ever you bought the new one would have taken the dead one back.

  12. Sear autocenters take them.
