How do I dispose of a car with a loan that was charged off 4 years go?

When my auto loan was charged off 4 years ago, I did not hear from the lender or anybody. I continued driving it not knowing that it can be reposessed anytime. It broke down and needs a major repair which I can't afford. Having it fixed may not be worth it anymore. I want to donate or sell or anything just to get rid of it. What should I do? What paperwork do I need?
