How do I do a full system recovery?

Question

when the recovery disc is installed it simply re-installs the existing drivers but does not clear any of the programmes that are installed. I want to get the computer back to how it was when first purchased.

RE-INSTALL WINDOWS

save to cd/dvd any programs /photos etc you want to save.

put your master/reboot cd/dvd in your tower drive.

turn off PC (come offline)

turn on PC.

on start up your PC will read the "master"cd/dvd and then follow on screen instructions.

re install any saved programs.

go online ~re install browsers etc.

You will have to format the drive before you can install again.

if ur using laptop r branded pc means u will have recovery cd from that we can change the system to factory setting.

if u dont have the recovery cd means format ur partition and install xp .

and it will install fresh copy of os.

Start your computer with the windows cd in the cd drive and choose to start computer from cd/dvd this will then put a clean copy of windows on your pc you will need to put your recovry disk in to install the drivers after windows as installed.

keep clicking  the letter r when you boot your computer until the recovery thing comes up then follow instructions

or go to start    all programs     system recovery

this will work on windows xp i don't know about vista

Backup your files on a separate media (if any)

Reboot system with boot disk and at command prompt type format c:/

and then press enter. Your hard disk will be formatted, then re-install the operating system through recovery CD

To create boot disk:

at command prompt type a:1 and then press enter

then at command propmt type format a: /s and then press enter.
