1: graph on a number line : 1.101 001 000

2: evaluate : [ 1 - 3 ]

____________2 _ 4

3: graph on a number line. ( assuming x is a real number )

: [ - 1] < x < [ -4 ] , 2 < x < 7 ( the arrows are underlined)

4: express the following as a rational number in A over B.

: 0.1 + 0.01 + 0.001+ ... ( do you just put 1 over 10 , 1 over 100 etc?)

please help me, you don't have to do all of them as long as you do at least a little bit! thank you !

  1. 1:

I can't really graph it for you, but I would just put a dot about a 1/10 of the way between 1 and 2 on the number line.

    2:

    1/2 - 3/4 = 2/4 - 3/4 = -1/4

    3:

Draw a line from -4 to -1 and then another from 2 to 7, with dots at either end of each line to indicate that the line includes the end points.

    4:

    0.1 + 0.01 + 0.001+ ... = 0.111...

    Let x = 0.111...

    If x=0.111, then 10x=1.111, which would make 9x = 10x - x = 1

Solving for x, we find that the answer is 1/9.
