How do I download stuff for Sims 2?

I went to modthesims2.com to download stuff for my sims but where do i go once i get there and how do i download stuff from the site onto my sims 2 game?

Download winrar first. Get the trail version. You never really have to pay for it.

After you've downloaded what you wanted, winrar should pop up when the download is complete. The second icon on the left is Extract. Extract the files to My documents/ea games/sims 2/ downloads. If you don't have a downloads folder just make one.

When you re-enter your game, make sure you enable custom content if you downloaded furniture or hacks.
