I have a 1993 Mako 261b, and I need to drain the auxillary tank. It just has some old gas in there.

  1. you can cypher, or get one of those hand held pumps and pump it out ...

  2. cypher?

DO NOT USE A WET/DRY VAC!!!!

I've heard of people doing that and having a BBQ at the same time!

You can siphon it out fairly easily. Place a hose down in it and start the siphon action with a primer bulb. Keep the hose (outside part) lower than the tank and it should drain well.

Another option is to buy an electric fuel pump from NAPA (or other AP store) and use it to pump out the tank. You can tap into the line from the tank and pump it dry as a bone!

  3. get a pro. they have the gear to drain flush and do the job right. you cant get the sediment stuck to the bottom by just draining. this is critical to your safety so dont mess it up.
