How do I dye a tan leather sofa to make it chocolate-colored or coffee-colored?

I want to do a sofa and love seat. They are Nubuck leather (tan-colored). It would take too much shoe polish. I'm considering soaking them with coffee or a mixture of shoe polish and coffee.
