How do I dye an embroidered trucker (mesh back) hat?

Hi guys,

I am aiming to dye a mesh-back trucker hat that is embroidered. The mesh and embroidery are white, and I want to dye them pink. The hat itself is black. Is it possible to dye it without ruining the black?

Also, what kind of dye will work best for this type of fabric? Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Won't work. Polyester doesn't accept dye.
