How do I edit movies on my computer?

Question

I have some movies that I took with my digital camera. Some of them have a few parts that there is nothing happening and I would really like to remove that part.

Some others are too long and I would like to cut it in half so I can have two seperate movies to add to YouTube...

Is there some program that I can download that allows me to edit movies how I need?

If you are running Vista there is a program in it called Movie Maker.

Just use Windows Movie Maker! Windows XP comes with it! If you are using Vista then it should come with Vista as well! I hope this helps! Good Luck! ;)

if you are using winxp, you can use windows movie maker. You can edit, add effects, and also convert it to wmv format to shrink the size of the video on disk

If you use Windows XP you should have Windows Movie Maker on your computer. If not then you can always download it online for free. There are other more advanced programs... but if you just want to edit timing and junk then Windows Movie Maker is good
