How do I edit my pictures? Is there a free program?

Alot of people these days have some program that lets you edit your pics, ie. make a colour picture black and white but some things in it are in colour, like a flower or something. Does anyone know a free program I can download to do stuff like that?

I use picnik.com. It lets you do what you mentioned plus other effects on the pictures. its totally free and you can upload the pictures right to your myspace, blog, facebook, etc.

I use photoshop i never buyied it ...its the best of the best .........use it ull love it...............
