How do I edit the audio in video clips?

I just filmed an interview on my Sony Handicam that took place outdoors, and it was quite windy. I'm trying to raise the volume of the voices and reduce the sound of the wind in the mic. Is this possible, or do i need to purchase special software?

I'm kind of in a bind, I need this clip for a presentation on monday morning! Thanks in advance for the advice

  1. Unfortunately, even with video editing software, it is extremely difficult to clean up that sort of noise. I'm sorry I can't provide a happier outlook for you, but there's just not much you'd be able to do.

If you want to mute it, or try to tweak it, i would reccommend downloading Sony's "Vegas Video" just do a google search...its a free demo, and doesn't have any limitations on it. It is pretty user friendly and you might be able to do something, but don't get frustrated if you can't...It's hard to fix!

    Good luck!
