How do I edit the qaulity/audio of videos taken on my Digital Camera ?

I own a Fujifilm Finepix s700 digital camera. The video quality is kinda crappy, and I take into account lighting and all that good stuff. But I was trying to see if there was some freeware out there that could enhance the qaulity aswell as the audio.

All the enhancement magic is done with specialized programs that are even more expensive than the most popular commercial video editing programs like Adobe Production Suite, Avid Xpress Pro, Grass Valley Canopus Edius and the like.

Audio is even a more prickly problem.  Noise and over-modulation can make some audio trash.

You need to start out with as close to pristine a video and audio as possible.
