How do I eliminate snail's in my yard? Any kind of safe chemical to use?

BEER!! they love it. put it in a bowl with sides about an inch high. they will get buzzed and drown. no kidding! what a way to go!

put beer in a bowl, and place crushed eggshells around the bowl. the snails are attracted to the beer, but get sliced by the eggshells.

Surround the yard with copper sheet edging or around vulnerable plants with copper wire. For some reason, the snails are repelled by the electrical charge in copper. You don't need to provide power to the copper sheet or wire. Of course this is toxic free.

salt is very effective on slugs, so I imagine it will do the same to snails.  It actually makes them shrivel and foam.  We have made a line of salt in the area we had problems.  In our case slugs were sliming their way under the storage room door and getting into the dog food.

I don't know where you are living but in Canada we have

a product line called "Safers" it is actually their family

name. They have a fantastic snail and slug bait that will get rid of the pests but will not harm kids, birds, animals or

any other type of creature. I am sure if your nursery doesn't stock that brand they will have something similar. With the

emphasis on green these days a lot of companies are coming out with natural and safe alternatives to weed and insect killers.

Epsom salt sprinkled on the ground will help. It's also safe to have around kids and wildlife. It's also safe for your lawn since it's a pure form salt as long as you don't use a ton of it. Remember less is more.

Ortho makes a product for slugs and snails called Bugetta or something like that.

Also a pie dish with beer works, the snails drink the beer, fall in, and drown.

salt will draw the water out of their bodies and make them explode.  And they love beer.  small dishes of beer set into the ground so it's level will drown them.
