I recently won a judgement for $5000 in small claims court over a contract dispute. How can I go about enforcing this judgement? What are my remedies if they don't pay? Can I file against their credit? Place a lien on property?

  1. The judgment will show up under the public records section of his credit report.  You don't need to do anything for it to hit his credit report.

You can go back thru the courts to attach his bank account or lien his property if he doesn't pay.  You may have to get a lawyer to process the paperwork.  Or you could sell the judgment to a collection  agency.

  2. You can place a lien on their property. You need to get a lawyer.

  3. Call the Circuit Clerk's office at the courthouse where your judgment was issued and if it has been 30 days or more, they will query the respondent and find out how, why and when you can be paid.

Trust these people, they do this every day and are happy to help a voter for free if possible.
