How do I engrave my address in a boulder in my yard?

I have a two ton boulder in my yard and would like engrave my house number on it myself. Any idea how I can accomplish this? Thanks in advance!

Is there some kind of template I can stick to the rock and then brush a gel form of acid on it?

Call  the cemetary monument people.  They sandblast it.

It depends on the type of rock. Some will do fine with a grinder and some chisels. You can always test a small area of the rock that nobody will see. Or if you have another rock of the same type play with that one to see what works best. If you wanted to try acid, I think Muriatic Acid is the strongest, but it would most likely eat away the template too. You can buy this at lowes or home depot. Most often in the garden section, but may be in the paint area.
