Question:

How do I enter my Chihuahua into a competition?

Our Chihuahua is only 6 months old now but is very smart and quick to learn. She's very healthy, but too big for most competitions. 13"L x 9.75"H and 6 lbs 9 oz. We did check with our vet and know that she is healthy for her length and height.

So now that she's disqualified from most competitions, what is she eligible for?

  1. I'm assuming your refering to showing her in the breed ring.  There are other things to do if you want to.  There are chihuahua's that do agility and obedience, they're really fun to watch

Find a local agility club in your area and start training!  Both you and she will have loads of fun.  There are lots of little dogs that do agility.

Visit the Clean Run website to find a local agility club http://www.cleanrun.com

  2. agility - under 10 inch class

  3. You can enter her in conformation, but she wont likely win.

Obedience, Agility, Flyball..  any non-conformation event is good.

  4. Being a pet and not a status symbol.

Just enjoy and love your dog, she doesn't have to win competitions to be a family member does she?

  5. She can compete in obedience, rally, and agility.

  6. She could do agility or competitive obedience, all dogs can do that.
