How do I erase my internet past for free?

I can't always erase such as toolbars and memberships. I don't mean to erase websites

i assume you don't want your mom or significant other to be able to see all the porno sights you've been looking at. for alll intents and purposes the follwing will do the trick:

go to preferences and click on cookies. delete every cookie in the list. then go to web browser>advanced and clear the history and empty the cache. under cache look at the location of your temporary internet files folder. go to that folder and delete everything in it. then go to download options and change the preference from 'remember the last 'x' downloads' to 'immediately remove items after they have been downloaded'. then quit the browser and open it up again. check to make sure the cookies, history and cache are all empty. re-check the cache folder and see if it is clean.

this should clean it out so the average user behind you won't be able to find anything.

You need to clear the "cookies" or the bits that remember your searches and things, heres how:

On your browser toolbar at the very top you will see Tools just above the refresh button and the home button. Click it.

Select "Internet Options" from the pull-down menu.

Click the "General" tab on the top portion.

In the middle section, click the "Delete Cookies" button. A popup window will appear; press the "OK" button to delete the cookies.

After the cookies are deleted then click the Delete Files button next to that to delete all the Temp Internet Files on your computer that store all the websites you have visited.

To clear your History click the Clear History Button and all your recent activity on the internet will be deleted.

Click the "OK" button and you are done.
