How do I erase recent history from my computer? Want to keep my searches private.?

  1. If you are using Internet Explorer click on Tools, Internet Options, Content, Auto Complete. Then clear forms. This will erase the search history. If you don't want things showing up again then deselect the auto complete options at the top of the page. Be sure to select ok at the bottom. Clearing the history only deletes sites visited and doesn't clear the search history in the search bar.


  2. Go to Start menu, control panel, internet options and delete all your cookies, files and clear your history.

  3. To delete the information stored by AutoComplete

    1.In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

    2.Click the General tab, and then click Delete.

    Do any of the following:

    3.To delete information from web forms, click Delete forms and then click Yes.

    4.To delete passwords, click Delete passwords and then click Yes.

    5.To delete web addresses from the Address bar, click .Delete history and then click Yes.

    Click Close and then click OK.

  4. go to history and right click it and it will say delete. but nothing ever really gets deleted from a computer it just goes from file to file. good luck!
