Is there a simple formula?

You end up with so much waste when your matching patterns..........

I always get a little more then what I need.

  1. Generally, area + 10 percent. Usually you can return the extra, unless a special order.

  2. easy measure the width and the hight and multiply both measuremnts. that gives you the actuall footage. if your doing multiple walls get the footage for all walls and add them together, that will give you the actuall square footage and for waste add 10% percent to the final square footage.

  3. kiss from france!yeah!!!

  4. This website has a very good step by step process to go through including waste depending on the repeat length of your pattern.

The also have an online calculator (I would verify with my own calculations however)

  5. Assuming that you don't have a massive repeat on the pattern, I normally expect to get three drops from a roll in a 8ft tall room.

Round down the roll width to 50cm. measure the length of each wall in cm then work out how many multiples of 50cm there are, finally divide by three (the drops per roll).

Do this for each wall and total up, finally allow 10% wastage.

  6. Who uses wallpaper anymore?

A little more? A lot more would be a proble, but why complain about having just a little left over?

Maybe you could use the scraps to paper a peice of furnature.

  7. measure the walls!
