How do I express the compass point from the wind direction degrees?

For example if the wind direction is 27 degrees, what will be the wind direction compass points? In the exercise I am using a wind compass. Please help?

  1. I think my source will help you.  It IS a question similar to yours.


  2. 0/360 degrees are both north.

  3. A compass completes a circle, and so has 360 degrees.

    Zero degrees and 360 degrees are both north.

    So, 180 degrees is south, 90 degrees is east, 270 degrees is west, and so on.

    45 degrees must be northeast. Half of that is 27 degrees, or north-northeast.

  4. In your example, if you were to face 27 degrees, the wind would be blowing directly in your face.
