How do I extend a desktop picture across two monitors?

I have Windows Vista, and two 1680 x 1050 22" monitors.

  1. right click the desktop select personalize then click display settings then click the grey monitor (both monitors need to be hooked to the graphics card). then select the check box that says extend my desktop onto this monitor. then drag the monitor to the position it will sit relative to the master monitor so that the mouse will go to that screen when you move it towards that screen


  2. You need 2 video cards and set up your monitor settings in the control panel.  Im not 100% sure
