  1. Put them in decending order so it would be

    -40x^2+16x+9

    then use the quadratic formula:

    negative b plus or minus the square root of (b) squared minus 4ac all over 2(a)

    -b + or - square root of (b)^2-4ac/2a

  2. I guess:

    Trinomial perfect square

    a^2-2a*b^2+a^2

    the result is

       (4x-3)^2    why?

  3. idk

  4. not factorable over the rational numbers

  5. Why don't u simply use the quadratic formula...

    x=  -b + D

         _______________

                  2a

    and x=  -b - D

         _______________

                  2a

    in bothe cases, D is under-root of bXb - 4ac

    I calculated and got answers as,

    x = 0.71 and x = -0.3225

  6. use the formula -b(+/-) under sqaure root[b^2 - 4 (a*c)] the whole term divided by 2a

    where a is coefficient of x^2 i.e here -40

    b is coefficient of x i.e 16 and c is 9

    the answer u'll get are x=  -0.314 and x = 0.714

    :)
