How do I fall asleep and stay asleep?

I keep going to sleep at a good time because I get tired at that time. BUT, I went to sleep at around 9:30, and woke up at 11:30, and now I'm wide-awake, and probably won't fall back asleep until 5:30 in the morning, be woken up at nine, and sneak back into bed and have naps on and off till 2 in the afternoon. I start school on MONDAY, and today's THURSDAY, tomorrow's Friday. PLEASE help, It's already affecting my health, I feel like I want to barf and I feel gross all the time and everything always hurts. Help!

  1. This happens to me every year. theres a few things you can do.

    1.stay up all night 2 days before school then go to bed and start your new sleeping pattern.

    2. theres always alchol and weed that will get you to sleep in no time.  

    3. count sheeps sleep read watch t.v play video games.

    any thing that will clear your mind then just fall asleep.

    3. have a night time snack such as graham crackers

    4. writing down whats on your mind

    5. take a warm bath before bed

    6. certain scents help me sleep such as lavender and vanilla creams or bed sprays

    7. listen to quiet lullabies

    8. stroking your dog or cats fur

    9. dont take naps during the day

    10. imagine dreamy like places

    11. count your respirations (breaths you take)

    12. just listen to your respirations

  3. Try going to bed a little later, so that you aren't trying to force 11 1/2 hours into sleep. On average, you probably only need 7-8 hours of sleep to regenerate your body.

    Taking deep breaths in bed helps.

    It sounds like you might have slight insomnia. Stress and something upsetting can also cause. You might want to check with your doctor on what might be going on.

    Plus, try not to sleep at all during the day because it will then take away from the hours you should be sleeping at night.
