Question:

How do I fall asleep faster?

School starts in four days for me, and I am still deep into my summer sleep schedule. I have been going to bed at midnight, but I still can't fall asleep until six or seven in the morning. I have tried ever remedy I know. Whether it be closing my eyes to soft music, laying still in dead silence and darkness, or reading a book, I cannot for the life of me fall asleep. Is there any immediate fix that can have me falling asleep about eight hours earlier?

Thanks

  1. dont drink coffee

try to work or exercises to get tired so u can fall sleep easier

  2. stay up till bedtime...say like 10pm a couple days in a row without naps or anything.

  3. Hey Darl, aww that's no good!

you should try sleeping pills - they should work. Also do some light exercises before you go to bed.

hope i helped and good luck! =)

  4. get drunk till you pass out

  5. A warm bath. The best way to fall asleep fast is to relax and there’s no better way to relax than a warm bath. The warm, sudsy water relaxes the body and the mind while easing the transition between awake and asleep. Other relaxing activities include: deep breathing, yoga, meditation, tai chi, or muscle relaxation techniques.

Exercise. Get some exercise every day. It can be vigorous or moderate, however because exercise increases metabolism and raises alertness, you should not exercise within 3 or 4 hours of bedtime.

A midnight snack. A heavy meal close to bedtime interferes with sleep but going to bed hungry also makes sleep difficult. A light snack may actually improve sleep. Try a few crackers with a spoonful of peanut butter or a glass of milk with a piece of fruit.

Wear earplugs. If you can’t minimize noise in the house, block noise with comfortable earplugs.

Leave the room. If you toss and turn, don’t lie in bed until you fall asleep. By staying in bed, you are associating the bed with sleeplessness. You need to establish the bed as a place for sleep, so instead go to another room and relax until you are sleepy.

Maintain a routine. Always go to sleep at the same time each night and awake at the same time each morning to establish a routine. Changing your sleep schedule dramatically during the weekend can lead to a shift in your circadian rhythm, which carries into the following week.

cozy. Create a healthy sleep environment by making the room inviting and comfortable. Keep the room cool and dark, using an eye mask if you can’t darken the room. Select a comfortable pillow and mattress, finishing your cozy cove with a soft blanket.

i don't close my eye's to fall asleep cause it takes like 5 hour's maybe try to keep your eye's open it works for me! good luck=)

  6. This is a problem akin to jet lag or with shift work.  I start work anywhere from 6 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon followed by 2 in the afternoon till 11 pm.  There is no easy way to do it.  If I am not sleepy I don't try to go to sleep, I just do something on the internet until I get so sleepy I can no longer think and then I hurry to bed before I end up drifting off with my face on the keyboard.   Reading in bed seems to do it for me.  After a day or two of staying awake during the school day you will perforce change your sleep pattern.

  7. Start getting up earlier....like the time you will have to when you go back to school...get yourself into the routine again!

  8. Exercise.  Wear yourself out.  Get up in the morning and go walking or running.  Exercise again in the afternoon.  Push your body and it will be more than happy to sleep.

  9. Its natural to fall asleep after say about 10p.m. mainly because of the

sleeping hormones released in the human brain. Never try any pills.

Just  working out  continuosly in a gym or playing your favourite

sport  till you sweat out will make you tired and put you to sleep

much earlier. Forget  all worries you have in mind and sleep

wholeheartedly .Avoid hot foods.Be a vegetarian  Hope things will

be fine. For more details you always have a physician/psychiatrist

    nearby. Best wishes.

  10. Try to count sheep's.

  11. All these answers are good but not immediate. I don't recommend sleeping pills because your body starts to depend on them and they really don't fix the problem. Go to the grocery store and get some NeoCitron Cold and Flu Tea. It's better than cough syrup because it's not as strong but it's warm and by the end of the cup, you're so tired you don't even wanna get up to go to your bed. Baths are really good too. Personally, when I have troubles with my sleeping pattern, I just smoke weed and problem fixed haha.

  12. don't eat a lot but eat enough.try not to drink tea or coffee at night.

and sleep at night when you think you're really tired but wake up in the morning soon(the time you need to wake up for schools)just spend one day like this after that your sleep schedule will be fine again.

oh and also you can try to make your eyes tired by reading books or gazing at the screen of your pc

    good luck

  13. Get a baseball bat and whack yourself with it

    o.j :P

Try sleeping pills or watching a soap like friends, lie down and close your eyes while listening to it and you'll be asleep in no time

  14. Just before you go to bed, have a nice cup of warm milk or maybe Horlicks. It might make you feel sleepier.
