How do I figure out my net pay?

I live in Wisconsin and I worked 40 regular hours at $7 an hour and 19 hours of overtime at $10.50. I know my gross pay is 479.50, but I don't know how to figure out my net pay.

  1. It depends on your withholdings.  You'll have to contact payroll.

    Withholdings could vary and might include:

    retirement

    social security

    state disability insurance

    state unemployment insurance

    federal income tax

    state income tax

    union dues

    medical insurance

  3. You can enter your info at paycheckcity.com and get a very good estimate.  There isn't enough info in your question for anyone to calculate it for you.  And when you enter your info, just enter the gross - what's straight time and what's overtime doesn't matter in the calculation of taxes.
