How do I file my taxes for 2006?

I was told that I didn't make enough money for that year so I didn't file. so now I have lost

all the papers w2 etc. form for that year. What can I do??? HELP

  1. Is IRS requesting you to file the return, if so do you have a letter from IRS with a phone number to call.  Call the phone number listed on the letter and they will send you the W2.

    If you received an ASFR notice giving you 30 days to file then the w2 info is included "summary of income sources"

    OR contact IRS at 1-800-829-1040 (be prepared to be on hold for at least an hour) or visit you local IRS office they will provide them for you while you wait.


  2. try IRS.COM and take a look at prior year filings!  That's the best answer to your question.

  3. You can get copy of your 2006 W-2 from your employer (former employer).  You can also get a transcript of the 1099 forms that were sent to IRS in your name.
