How do I find Free Wi-Fi?

What's the best up to date free wi-fi directory or mapping service out there? Is there an open directory everyone is using?

Starbucks, Library, Hotels, Barnes & Nobles, even some grocery stores even have it.  I believe that there are some web sites that tell what's up in your area.  But I'd say the library is a good place to start.

Go to www.wififreespot.com. It regularly updates a list of free wi-fi hotspots all over the country.

theres free wi fi at a bunch of places. try somewhere like panera or star bucks (im not sure if all of them r free, but the ones around me r). if its not free, it will say the fee that u would have to pay when u try to register.

just turn you computer on. If you can connect to a server, there is your Free wifi.

If it's a business thing, pay for it.  Call your cellphone company and tell them you want to put your laptop on the internet.  They have a plan (and a device) to do that.

What kind of business is it that you can't spend a few bucks to do it legitimately?

if you want free wifi, live next to someone who has wifi and doesn't keep it locked

Switch to AT&T DSL i believe they have deal where you have DSL and you get FREE WIFI where ever they may have hot spots

There's ways to get free wifi from pay services you just have to figure out how too technically ;o)

Power up your laptop and search for unsecured WiFi's.  See if they'll let you connect.

I've had my choice of 14 free wifi sitting in New York City.  Beats paying what the hotel wanted for internet access.

Use gamestop. It's not free but it's cheap and that's where I got my Xbox 360.
