Relative died and the widow is not providing information. The county has no record of a will. What are my options?

Not good. You could call every law firm in the county and ask. Start with the ones close to his office, if he had one, or in his church, if he went to one, or in his country club, again if he had one. A real lawyer might know of a better way.

You could ask the relative's friends, co-workers and minister if he ever mentioned a lawyer.

If he HAD a will with a lawyer, that lawyer should know he is dead, and that lawyer may come forth to the probate court.

If he had a will filed with his widow, giving you half, she may have burned it.
