  1. Stand up for yourself. If your dentist sucks, tell him.

  2. call this number 1800 dentist! or go to dentists.com u will see a guy who is kinda creepy but the listings are over 100,000 dentists across the US! Happy to help! Email me! ohhcutiex97@yahoo.com

  3. Dude.  Fix your teeth!!  Who gives a d**n if the dentist thinks you're a loser!  It's better than every woman you meet thinking you're a loser for having crummy teeth and halitosis.  Just fix it.

  4. Word of mouth - ask around and see who your friends/co-workers, etc. go to and if they like their dentist.  That's how I found my dentist who I've been with for the last 18 or so years and who my kids go to now as well.  I don't like going to see him because of my own experiences growing up but he's good, his staff is good and they do a great job with my kids too.  Good luck.  I hope you find one as good as the one I found - through a co-worker I should add!

  5. I was in your situation a few years back.  I have a great dentist now that a friend recommended to me.  Ask your friends about their dentists and look in the yellow pages...sometimes, dentists advertise that they "cater to cowards", or perform "gentle dentistry".  You get the general idea.  There are some really great doctors out there who are very concerned about pain control and the feelings of the patient.  Years of crappy dentists made me terrified of them, and now going to the dentist is pretty much stress free for me.  I hope you find a good dentist and get out of pain soon!
