How do I find a past employment record?

I need to find out how I can find my ex-husband's employment records. I need to know his past employers for medical insurance purpose for our son. He was suppose to carry him on the insurance for the past 9 years, and has failed to do so. I can't afford an attorney, and I need to get things done. Help please....we live in Louisiana.

That is not a matter of public record. If you have his Social Security Number you may be able to get an address and employer (but nothing else) from a credit reporting agency.

Do you know anyone with a Private Investigator's license? They may be able to find out.
