  1. If he died as a result of a accident then it may have been reported in the local Newspapers of the time, also you check the National Burials Index which is available on CD ROM.

  2. I believe that the largest index of burials is at www.ancestryuk.com The info may not be free, and you may have to search the site to find the index, but it is there.

  3. look on the internet madam

  4. Here are the details taken from the index on, www.ancestry.co.uk

    Walter. W.  63 Battersea  v.1d  p.579  1937 J/F/M

you can order the death certificate from here,

    http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

that will get you his last address amongst other information, such as cause of death, and the name of the informant.

From there you can phone around the cemeteries in the area close to where Walter lived that's the normal way people arranged funerals, unless specific instructions were  given in a Will as to where he wished to be interred.

The one thing you do have in your favour to make the search easier is the EXACT date of his death. That will be the question they will ask you first.

    Hope this helps.

  5. If you have access to Colindale, in North London, you could visit the Newspaper Library, part of the British Library (see website). Incidents were frequently reported in local papers. There may also be a death announcement and funeral details, although this is a relatively new custom. People used to send death/funeral announcement cards by post instead to interested parties. I am not sure when this custom died out, but think it would have been before 1937.
