Question:

How do I find an aftermarket car stereo that doesn't make me vomit a little in my mouth?

I've decided to get a car stereo that reads CD's with mp3s loaded on them. Problem is, all the stereos at the typical stores I visit (Best Buy, etc) have an array of 800 tiny, largely useless buttons so small that I have to use a magnifying glass and pair of needle nose pliers to push them. Also, I would prefer to have a stereo that doesn't have an LED screen so bright that when I'm sitting in traffic my eyes don't gravitate down to the stereo's looping video of a curiously s**y bunny doing belly dances to NPR's theme music.

I want a better car stereo that's simple to use (a few large buttons), dims with the rest of my in-car lights, and doesn't have a lot of distracting c**p on it.

My car has a standard double-height stereo slot.
