How do I find an obituary for Bobby James Lee?

He was born March 16, 1973 and died February 28, 2003 in Texas. He was a childhood friend. I am looking for a cause of death and where he is burried. I have searched and searched.

If necessary, query every county in Texas, starting with the most populated and working down, to get a death certificate.  If RJL was using his actual name, you'll have to find him that way.  If death was suspicious, there should also be a coroner's report.  Look in local newspapers for the day after his death and for a week or two thereafter for followup stories.

I see that SS death listings just say Texas...Bobby J Lee...maybe he was a serviceman, based in Texas?

Have you thought of contacting his parents?  Or looking at local newspapers for obituaries.  Not everyone has an obituary and not every obituary lists cause of death.

Do you have any other friends of that time who might know something?
